For this Dayton real estate business: 2010 starts now!

October 12th, 2009

For this Dayton Realtor, 2010 starts on October 1, 2009. That means when the market traditionally begins to slow down, that’s when it’s time to ramp up for 2010. Buying and selling real estate are not spur-of-the-moment activities. It takes time and planning, and for real estate agents, there is some cultivation that occurs. If we want to help someone move into a home in January, we need to begin the processes- emotional, financial, logistical processes, at least a few months prior. So, 2010 begins in October.

With that in mind, I’m always looking at how to best conduct my business as a business. What Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities Threats do I need to address in order to meet my goals? I’ve had some forced down time and I’ve gotten some very constructive feedback from my clients this past year- good and not-so-good. I welcome the opportunity to learn from all of it! I take all feedback as an chance to improve my business: What can I do to create a better customer experience? What do my clients need in order to be better informed, educated, and confident real estate consumers? There are a few areas I’m focusing on- more education, and improved communication- but it takes time to create a better system, so I’m taking the time.

In addition, I’ve also been given a tremendous opportunity to join the online community at DaytonMostMetro. I’m incredibly honored to have been asked to contribute to the real estate conversation at Dayton’s premier online magazine, and even though I’ve been writing online, somewhere or the other, for over 3 years now, joining DMM is both humbling and rather daunting. Bill Pote and the fine folks at DaytonMostMetro have raised the bar high, I hope I’m up to the task.

Rest assured, the show must go on- I am doing money work. You can always contact me by phone at 937-478-7781, for help with any of your real estate needs. My first priority is to help people sell and purchase homes and rent properties in Dayton Ohio. But while I’m working in the business, while I work on my business, while I improve my customer service models, set goals for 2010, establish a little corner at DaytonMostMetro, and prepare to take my real estate experience into still a few more new areas, expect light posting on TheBrickRanch.com.
