Building a better rodent trap

June 30th, 2007

Today’s magazine tidbit you may have missed is brought to you by Wired.

There’s a new tool in the battle against burrowing rodents: The Rodenator Pro. I like this. I dislike rodents. I have no warm and fuzzy feelings about them. Squirrels are tree rats with bushy tails. Chipmunks are big striped mice. Ground hogs are giant rats with overgrown tails. And they all tear up yards and can destroy homes. The Rodenator sounds like a fine idea.

So here’s how it works: Propane and pure oxygen are released into the offending rodent trail. An electric spark ignites the deadly vapors and the rest, as they say, is history. And all for the low low price of $1,890. Well worth it if you ask me.

Although that kinda sorta leaves my cats without something to do for fun and excitement.
